Port, the  luscious fortified wine has a long history and is closely associated with the British. Port is named after the City of Porto, where the wines are matured. Many of the most famous Port houses of Porto, are still owned and run by British families. The wine starts its life in the UNESCO World Heritage site of the beautiful Douro valley and is produced from a diverse range of Portugal's indigenous grapes varieties.
