Southern Rhone Tasting (ONLINE TASTING)
On this wonderful evening we will taste some delicious wines from the French Rhone Valley, home to Chateauneuf-du-Pape.  We'll compare simple Cotes-du-Rhone with a village wine and finally a Cru wine that is a great alterative to Chateauneuf, but usually less expensive. Did you know...
  • the French have been making wine in the Rhone Valley for over 2500 years?
  • the Rhone Valley is the second largest quality wine producing region in France?
We'll take a look at the Appelations, the traditions and the lovely fruity, spicy warming wines from this region. I recommend buying in advance:  Any bottle of simple Cotes-du-Rhone.  There are many examples available at different prices some very inexpensive at around £5. A bottle of Cotes-duRhone Vaillges.  I'll be using the M. Chapoutier available from Tesco at £9. A bottle of Vacqueyras.  I''l be using the Domaine Montvac Arabeque from the Wine Society at £14.95 but you'll find good examples around this price online and aslo in Waitrose, Booths and M&S. You'll be opening those wines LIVE with us on the night.and we'll give you some good advice regarding preservation if you don't want to drink them all straight away. Let's bring some wine fun to your living-room! ;-) 1 ticket will entitle everyone in your household to attend this tasting (no need to buy a ticket per person!).
