The Noughties – A Decade of Bordeaux

A Decade of Bordeaux – with Ollie & Thor

We’re back in the Private Room for an exploration of Bordeaux wine through the Noughties. The decade saw some very different vintages, from the disastrous to the exceptional, and pundits pondered whether it was all due to global warming. Be that as it may, the point is to find wine that’s nice to drink, and the decade produced plenty of that. We’ll stay clear of the astronomical prices of the first growths, steroid-fuelled by Chinese characters and lucky numbers. Rather, while exploring the different terroirs, we’ll focus on which vintages are there to be drunk now, which are worthy of ageing, and which are best avoided. All done over a delicious three-course meal that brings out the Bordelais in each of us.
