Wine Society's Weirdos

Friday 22 February 2013

,

With Jancis Robinson releasing her new epic book 'Wine Grapes – A complete guide to 1,368 vine varieties, including their origins and flavours' there has never been greater emphasis on the unusual, weird and wonderful grape varieties that are now emerging from the ever-changing and exciting world of wine. We have decided to delve into the unusual and offer a variety of tasty tastings that explore grape varieties that many have never heard of before but definitely should start to drink! Jancis Robinson on our selection: "I strongly recommend the Godello, Assyrtiko and Petit Manseng for sheer quality, the Juan Garcia, Agiorgitiko and Gaglioppo as bargains and the Negrette for quirkiness."
