WSET Level 3 Certified Course

Monday 15 July 2013

,

A five-day, intensive course for enthusiasts to expand upon their existing wine knowledge.

The WSET (Wine and Spirit Education Trust) Level 3 Award in Wines And Spirits is designed for those who have a good foundation of wine knowledge and wish to reinforce and expand it through attending a structured course which covers areas including the production of wine, a rigorous tasting programme, understanding the still, fortified and sparkling wines of the world as well as spirits and liqueurs.

This intensive course will be held over five days, with three two-hour sessions each day, and an examination on the final day. Each session will be concluded by a tasting and the number of wines tasted over the course – light, fortified and sparkling – will be between 72 and 80. In addition 6 spirits will be tasted. All students will be given a study pack comprising a course book, study guide and tasting card. Given the intense nature of the course and depth of knowledge required to pass the examination it is strongly advised that those attending set aside 56 hours for private study, based on the study pack, prior to the course.

Lunch and refreshments are provided each day and the course cost covers WSET examination fees, WSET course materials, WSET accredited tuition, tasted wines, and use of AWC Wine Academy’s equipment. You will also receive your own set of tasting glasses for use during the duration of the course and to keep for your future wine enjoyment.
