Paşaeli, Hoşköy Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 Trakya

16.5 +

Full bottle 1,326 g. This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is made with fruit grown in their single vineyard in Hoşköy near the city of Tekirdağ in Thrace. The fruit is fermented with native yeast at 25 °C for 3 weeks with pumping over. Then barrel-aged for 24 months in new and one-year-old French oak barrels. Bottle-aged for a minimum of 18 months.
Inky garnet with opaque core. Complex meaty black fruit on the nose. The beginning of undergrowth-like maturity but still with clear Cabernet character. On the palate, this is at last starting to settle though the tannins are pretty firm. The fruit seems fresher here than in the 2015 so that the whole is better balanced but still demanding. Still with what seems like a long life ahead but you could enjoy this now with something strong and meaty. (JH)
