Plenty of value – and laudable action on bottle weight – from Britain's dominant supermarket.
Jancis writes I was pretty impressed by the quality and range of wines shown by Tesco at their recent tasting for wine writers. And now that I know that they have signed up to reduce bottle weights, as reported in last Saturday’s wine news, I admire Britain’s biggest supermarket even more.
I did notice that, prior to the announcement, their detailed tasting booklet featured bottle weights, following the example set by Waitrose, a fellow signatory to Sustainable Wine Roundtable’s Bottle Weight Accord. The...
