Illegal substance found in wines

Does that headline work for you? It could be good, or bad, for sales of wines from the land of the tango.

Here’s a new word for our wine vocabularies: natamycin. This fungicide and anti-microbial agent is illegal in wine production in the EU but has been found in five Argentine wines, and some South African wines too.  The South African authorities are advising Cape wine producers to use approved alternatives such as dimethyl-dicarbonate (DMDC).
