NZ – could try harder

New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc is a funny wine. The average British wine drinker absolutely adores it while wine professionals find it a bit wearing, simple and unrewarding.

At last week's annual generic NZ wine tasting overlooking Chelsea's football ground (being completely re turfed for a match just a few days later – Roman really is not short of a rouble) I concentrated instead on various Pinots and relatives, including Chardonnay.
