Argentina – the highs and highers

Argentina is ALL about altitude and the sheer quality these heights inspire in different varieties is a joy for any winelover. We’ve all experienced the insanely intense and serious Malbecs that burst onto the scene and re-defined power and structure but there’s more… hard to believe but there really is.

From Patagonia in the south at a relatively modest 100-350 metres to the soaring slopes of Salta culminating at an astonishing 3000 metres, ambitious, enthusiastic and ground-breaking pioneers have planted all kinds of different vines to search out the best plots to suit their temperaments and see what their terroir can offer. In much the same way as now established regions in the USA and Australia did a couple of generations ago. The learning process continues but here are some of the most successful fruits of their labours – of love.

These 8 fantastic wines are brave and delicious, they will get you hooked and show you how much there still is to discover from Argentina.
