BORDEAUX: THE WALKABOUT TASTING

Thursday 13 November 2014

Bordeaux is the world’s largest source of fine wine. Hundreds of châteaux, each a brand in its own right, are spread across a series of sub-regions and districts which in turn have their own distinctive styles, histories and (in some cases) classification systems, while different vintages yield different wines from the same property. All this, combined with Bordeaux’s ability to age and develop in the bottle means that no matter how much you read, taste and drink, there’s always more great wine to discover.

Our Bordeaux walkabout tasting is suitable for anybody interested in the wines of this great region, whether novice or expert. More than 40 great wines will be open from quality producers including Gruaud-Larose, Pichon-Baron, Grand-Puy-Lacoste and many more (download the full list). You can work your way around at your own pace, dipping in and out, or take them in order and compare the wines of the different sub-regions such as Margaux, Pauillac, Saint-Emilion and Pomerol. Experts from some of the châteaux themselves will be on-hand to answer questions.

Please note: This tasting will take place at London Cru, our sister company and central London’s first winery. Get directions and contact details.
