Castello di Ama Grower Dinner

We are excited to announce that Lorenza Sebasti Pallanti from the renowned Tuscan winery Castello di Ama will be joining us for a special dinner in May at Blacks Club, Soho. Tom has written enthusiastically in the past about Ama, most recently when their new single vineyard San Lorenzo was awarded 95 points by the Wine Spectator and rated #6 in their 2014 100 wines of the year and was subsequently #1 in Decanter's blind tasting of Gran Selezione in November and the only wine to score 18.5/20. And then we come on to their top wines... Since first visiting Castello di Ama during his stag do in 2012 (a very civilised affair, naturally – winery visits, life drawing classes etc) Tom has been repeatedly captivated by the estate, its contemporary art installations, and its charming and cultivated owners Lorenza Sebasti and Marco Pallanti. And then are the wines. To say they are a breed apart is a significant understatement. Their top single vineyards – Casuccia and Bellavista score off the charts and are the Brunelli of Chianti. Their single vineyard Merlot L’Apparita (from vines planted before Masseto) is the most under the radar of the top Supertuscans.
