Difficult to imagine but even in Texas the biggest is not always the best. Domaine Wine Company is a friendly wine shop with its carefully selected, interesting wine collection for the neophyte to the oenophile offered at reasonable prices. My recommendation should be no surprise because Domaine Wine Company is named the Best Wine Shop by D Magazine in The Best of Big D 2014. The August 2014 Wine & Spirits magazine’s 'Destination: Dallas' article by Master of Wine Dilek Caner included, 'long-time wine business veterans James Moll and Lance Storer filter out anything short of stellar wines to fill the shelves of Domaine Wine Company'.
The experienced, professional owners are easygoing and on hand to give superb attention and recommendations if requested. They offer personalised attention… [w]ith a ‘concierge-style’ mentality, one-on-one service, aiming to learn your tastes and then tailor their offerings to your food, for instance. And they also offer in-home consultations. Domaine Wine Company has frequent educational wine tastings with the expert duo and from time to time vintners and ambassadors.
A self-styled beginner correctly wrote to Yelp, 'If you're learning about wines like me, Domaine is a good place to visit because it doesn't feel overwhelming or pretentious. The store size is quaint and the staff is very personable and approachable. Domaine Wine Company supports the community with in-store charity events.'
