It’s now less than three months to the 2016 International Cool Climate Wine Symposium in Brighton and the organisers have released the full programme and online booking for specific after-hours networking events, as they explain in their press release below. You can still buy tickets for the whole symposium or for single days.

This May the UK will host the International Cool Climate Wine Symposium (ICCWS 2016). Global experts in the wine world from eight different countries are speaking across three days making this a once-in-a-lifetime event not to be missed from 26 to 28 May 2016 in Brighton, an hour south of London by train.

The ICCWS 2016 is a three-day international symposium for all involved in making, marketing and selling cool climate wines. It offers the chance to network, learn and engage with leading practitioners and academics in our global industry. Tickets are limited so don’t miss out!

Jancis Robinson will be opening the programme; Dr Jamie Goode will close proceedings and Oz Clarke will lead a session on tasting English still wines. Essi Avellan MW, who co-wrote the World Encyclopaedia of Champagne and Sparkling Wine with Tom Stephenson, will lead a session on English sparkling wines. A host of keynote speakers from eight different countries will lead the programme, which has been structured to be a mix of plenary and parallel break-out sessions. They will be joined by a host of inspiring delegate speakers and there will be something for everyone, from those in the viticulture and wine-making boiler room to those more closely associated with business and marketing.

View the whole programme online.

You can now book your ticket to the following ICCWS networking events. Join fellow delegates after hours for some evening fun and entertainment in Brighton.

25 MayICCWS Launch at Brighton Museum. Sponsored by The Worshipful Company of Vintners, delegates can expect to sample some of the finest wines and chat to the producers as they make their way through the interconnecting rooms of the Brighton museum’s two floors, networking with others attendees and enjoying a selection of locally produced canapés and live music.

26 May: Sushi at the Sealife Centre. Make your way through the shark tunnel, stingray pool and an array of quirky displays housing tropical fish of all shapes and sizes as you sample wines from around the world. Several cool climate wine regions will be represented, each with a dedicated area spread throughout the aquarium and each sampling a range of producers’ wines from their region. Sushi at a Sea life Centre, slightly tongue in cheek we hear you say? Well perhaps, but with all seafood served guaranteed as sustainably sourced, it is definitely in keeping with this year’s ICCWS theme of changing climates and highlighting the need for environmental responsibility in all areas.

27 May: ICCWS Gala Dinner. Join fellow delegates, speakers and sponsors at the Gala Dinner. Enjoy an exquisite three course meal, each course paired with cool-climate wines, hand picked by some of the industry’s experts. After dinner guests will be entertained by the critically acclaimed and internationally renowned Beatles tribute show, who will kick-start the dancing, followed by a DJ for those who wish to continue enjoying themselves into the early hours.
