On Friday I published the first details of this year's Wine Relief campaign, aimed at raising a substantial contribution to this year's Comic Relief campaign to raise funds for hand-picked, sustainable, hugely worthwhile projects in Africa and the UK.

Retailers Laithwaites, Majestic, Virgin Wines, M&S, Waitrose and Oddbins are all donating  at least 10% on all sales of selected wines to Wine Relief in the run up to Red Nose Day on Friday 15March. The only chance anyone will have to taste all of the wines selected by these retailers together is in Edinburgh on Thursday 7 March at the Comic Relief Wine Fair.

This is the sixth such event that Rose Murray Brown MW has valiantly and so successfully organised. This year's tasting is being held in conjunction with The Scotsman Publications Ltd and takes place in the Assembly Rooms on George Street from 7 until 9 pm.

The 22 exhibitors include Majestic Wine, M&S, Waitrose, Oddbins, Naked Wines, Virgin Wines, Laithwaite's, Harvey Nichols, Drinkmonger, Valvona + Crolla, Woodwinters, Peter Green, Great Grog, Henderson Wines, Luvians, House of Menzies, Villeneuve Wines, Cornelius Wines, Sideways Wines, Raeburn Wines and more. There will be competitions on offer including Wines of Chile's Tasting Competition, Thinking Chocolate's Wine Matching Competition and a Wine Relief Quiz sponsored by Wines of South Africa.

There will also be a grand raffle and auction with alluring prizes – including Purple Pages memberships!

Rose asks us to please 'Like' our new facebook page www.facebook.com/ComicReliefWineFair.

Tickets are £20 per person.
