Those intrigued by the little hotbed of red wine activity in the upper Agly valley in Roussillon in south west France should know that this year these wines, from a wide range of ambitious producers (many based outside the region), will be on show over three days in early April in the village of Maury, traditionally better known for its sweet red almost port-like wines.
I wrote about these wines at length in wine news last year at Maury/Fenouillèdes – a brand new dry French red and subsequently chose a stunning dry white from the region, Le Soula Blanc made by Gauby, as a wine of the week.
