I have long criticised London wine merchants Armit for offering their wares by the unmixed dozen bottles only but now they seem to be taking bulk buying to an extreme. To while away the longueurs while waiting for prices of the most interesting wines to come out, they are offering four 2005 red bordeaux by the barrel, the equivalent of a whole 25 cases of a dozen bottles, “the perfect option for syndicated buyers, for those who need some quantity for events such as shooting parties or just those who need a steady supply of an excellent house red” is how they...
