In the latest instalment of our look at great Bordeaux vintages, we will investigate 1995 – a superb year on both the right and the left bank. Parker said: “At the minimum, 1995 is an excellent vintage, yet given the high percentage of outstanding wines, a strong argument can be made that 1995 comes close to rivalling such great vintages as 1990 and 1982.” This mirrors our experience, as ’95 always performs very well as part of a vertical tasting. With many of the wines starting to enter their peak drinking window, we thought now was a good time to take a closer look at some of the top properties.
