Celebrate English Wine

Friday 12 June 2020

,

Friday 12th June at 6pm why not join us to enjoy a glass of English wine to celebrate English Wine Week? If you’re curious about the growing buzz around English wine this tasting is the perfect way to learn which regions, grapes varieties and styles are putting England firmly on the map,The grapevine first arrived on England’s shores thanks to the Romans. England is now home to some award winning wine producers making spectacular wines that compete against the best wines from all over the world. Over the course of the evening we will discover what it is that’s making our wine more popular (and better quality) than ever. We'll talk about the history of wine-making in the UK, which grapes we grow today and which are our best wines? You can join purely out of an interest in wine, or you can get yourself a bottle or glass to join the fun and make a night (in) of it. Any English wine is fine but if you want to join Ruth, our tutor, she will be tasting the delicious and award winning Pinot noir rosé from local Dunleavy Vineyards. They have very kindly arranged for a very special deal for Clifton Wine School tasters, offering half price delivery when you buy 2 bottles. CLICK HERE to order (If you live in Bristol then delivery may even be free! - see the website for details). We want to have fun in quarantine; and while you can't come to us, we can come to you via an exclusive online tasting.  For just £10 per login, watch live or download it for later.
