Davy’s 2020 Burgundy En Primeur Tasting At The Royal Over Seas League

Our team were in the Cote d’Or during the last week of October to taste the 2020s from barrel. With another excellent Burgundian vintage on our hands, we are excited to show you the quality of the wines first hand at our 2020 Burgundy En Primeur tasting. Following the trend of recent vintages, 2020 was another warm, dry year, with record early harvests at many of the domaines we work with. Thankfully- and somewhat surprisingly- 2020 has given vibrant wines of great purity. Acidity levels, so important in ensuring balance in the wines, are very healthy, with many winemakers at a loss to explain why their wines are displaying such freshness despite the conditions. The wines are excellent, with ripe and pure fruit and consistently high quality across the region and at all levels. With dozens of barrel samples from across our range to try, this is an unmissable opportunity to discover the 2020 vintage. Our fine wine team will be on hand to offer expert guidance and advice on how these wines will develop over the next few years. In addition to the 2020s, we will also be showing a small number of back vintages, giving you and excellent opportunity to get an idea of how the 2020s might evolve and develop. We will be showing wines from some of our favourite producers, including: Domaine Marc Roy, Domaine Joseph Voillot, Domaine Rossignol-Trapet, Domaine Tortochot, Domaine Confuron Gindre and Domaine Drouhin-Laroze in the Côte de Nuits, and Domaine Bachelet-Monnot, Domaine Tollot Beaut, Domaine Michelot and Domaine Paul Pillot from the Côte de Beaune, as well as Château de Chamilly in the Côtes Chalonnaise.
