MANCHESTER - Albariño Masterclass

Albariño from Rías Baixas in North West Spain is normally thought of as being a DYA type of wine – Drink Youngest Available. However, anyone who’s been in a position to try examples that are that little bit older has usually been agreeably surprised. Not only do the wines hold up well, but they’re often all the better for the extra age. For evidence of this, join us as we taste our way through seven Albariños, including examples from stars of the region such as Granbazán, Pazo de Senorans and Fefiñanes. We’re confirming vintages at the moment but there’s definitely a 2015 in the line-up, and we suspect that one of the three 2017s is actually from 2011 - if it’s the one we think it might be, it sells for £50+ and Decanter magazine recently awarded it 97 points…
