Meet the Winemaker Online: Pieropan with Andrea Pieropan

Please join West London Wine School tutor Rosie Johnson for one of our 'Meet-the-Winemaker' online tasting sessions: Pieropan with Andrea Pieropan Wednesday 24th June 6:00pm – 7:00pm and Wednesday 1st July from 6:00pm – 7:00pm. Pieropan, Soave Italy Pieropan's estate covers 58 hectares of vineyard which are situated on the stony hills of Soave Classico. The Pieropan family has been producing wines in Soave since the 1890s. Indeed, they were the first producer to bottle a wine with the name Soave on the label in the early 1930s. Nino Pieropan took over from his father in 1970 and was the first producer to make a single-vineyard Soave, 'Calvarino', in 1971. Nino's two sons, Andrea and Dario, took over the running of the estate in 2017. From the 2015 vintage onwards, all Pieropan wines are certified organic. While they are known for their whites, the Pieropan family is now making some of the best Valpolicella and Amarone from their 16 hectare property in the Val d'Illasi (to the west of Soave Classico) which they bought in 1999.  An optional, supplementary wine case is available to purchase. TASTING SERIES DATES (Both sessions begins at 6:00pm and will last approximately 1 hour): - Wednesday 24th June 2020 - Wednesday 1st July 2020 COURSE STRUCTURE AND FORMAT: Each evening Andrea Pieropan of Pieropan will be joining us live with Rosie Johnson. Andrea will host each session live at 6:00pm over 2 consecutive Wednedays. Each session will be approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour in length. Unable to commit to each evening? No problem! Anyone registered for this tasting series will gain access to the video recordings of each session, so you can always revisit any of these at anytime in the future - whether its because you missed participating in the live evening or if you want to revisit the presentation at a later date. Each evening, Andrea and Rosie will be tasting three wines that are discussed during that evening's session. A case of each wine covered throughout the course (6 in total: 1 half bottle and 5 full bottles) will be available to order for anyone registered to attend the course, so if you'd like, you can also purchase and enjoy the wines with Andrea and Rosie on the night (or at a later date). The cost for this 6 bottle case is £145. Any wine orders received after 12pm will be processed on the next working day. We are working hard to deliver your order within two working days of the order being processed however due to the current environment the wines may arrive a day or two later than expected.  PLEASE NOTE: As this is a virtual tasting, only one seat needs to be booked per household UNLESS individuals will be logging into the tasting series with different computers/tablets. If you have registered at the weekend it will be sent to you on the Monday. If you have registered after 4pm Monday to Friday it will be sent to you the next working day.
