Here's a chance to experience a great evening at a bargain price. We firmly believe that South Africa is one of the world's most exciting wine-producing countries at the moment. South African wine has always been keenly priced and the Cape has long offered some of the best white wine value in the world and some well-made renditions of the classic wine styles of Europe. But today a new generation of younger wine producers are also offering a completely different range of styles and flavours, many of them uniquely South African. These bright young things are breathing new life and fresh air into the whole world of wine (see, for instance, Saturday's Giving the southern hemisphere an American accent).

So we are delighted to offer you a chance to meet 29 of the best of them and taste their wines at the inaugural New Wave South African Tasting. Come and experience the tangible sense of camaraderie, talent, youth and openness that pervades much of the new South African wine scene today.

This is an informal walk-round tasting on the evening of 23 September at The Vinyl Factory Soho, London. (Entry via Phonica Records, 51 Poland Street, London W1F 7LZ.) The event will run between 5pm and 9pm.
