Old World v New World Superstars - Saturday afternoon 8 wine tasting - Manchester
What better way to welcome spring than to book into a fabulous wine tasting in Manchester City Centre on a Saturday afternoon? After the runaway success of "Old World v New World Superstars" in 2019 and 2020, once again we’ll be gathering to pit some of the best European wines against their counterparts from other parts of the globe. During the two-hour session, we’ll taste eight wines with an average price of £25+ per bottle, and there'll also be some cheese and charcuterie to nibble on. At just £45 a person it’s brilliant value, as well as being a Perfect Christmas Gift to treat someone who really loves their wine. The 'Away' team last time featured Chardonnay from New Zealand, Pinot Noir from South Africa, Shiraz from Australia and Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile. For our 2020 event, the line-up is still to be completely finalised, but chances are that we’ll be trying New World wines that can take on the best of Champagne, the Loire Valley, Bordeaux (again, but with the focus on Merlot this time) and Priorat. It’s an excellent chance for beginners and seasoned wine tasters alike to decide whether you favour the Old World, the New World, or just any wine as long as it’s very good! If you wish to indulge in another fantastic showcase after we have a Prestige Champagne and Sparkling Wine Masterclass on 13th March,  2-4pm
