Online Fine Wine Tasting: Bordeaux Grand Cru Classe Horizontal 2000 Vintage
Join us for a special single-evening fine wine tasting of 6 Bordeaux wines from the 2000 vintage on Tuesday 8th September 2020 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. This wonderful tasting uncorks a line up of superb mature Bordeaux all hailing from the highly-acclaimed 2000 vintage now with 20 years of development. All six wines tasted are of Grand Cru Classé quality from deuxième (2nd) to cinquième (5th) Cru Classe with estates such as Chateau Leoville-Barton, Brainaire-Ducru and Lynch-Bages from villages such as Saint-Julien, Saint-Estephe and Pauillac. The 2000 Vintage (20 Years On): What is great about this vintage is that in almost all cases the grapes ripened properly (unlike so many Bordeaux vintages) and yet it has delightful freshness (unlike 2003), gentle tannins (unlike 2005) and seriously impressive harmony – especially after twenty years in bottle. The vintage sits amongst the top tier, often lauded in the same league (or close to) 2009, 2005, 1996 and 1990. Many chateaux in the smaller Bordeaux, satellite appellations also produced some of the best wines of their career. 2000 Bordeaux wine was great from top to bottom. Tasting Date: Tuesday 8th September 2020 at 7:00pm (the tasting will last approximately 2 hours) TASTING FEE STRUCTURE: For this special two-hour tasting, an exclusive tasting kit is available which includes a 75ml tasting sample of each wine, as well as tasting mat, tasting note paper and pen.
