Online Tasting: Champagne Gratiot-Pilliere with Christelle Gratiot

Join us for a really spectacular double-tasting with the gregarious and charming Christelle Gratiot of Champagne Gratiot-Pillière. Over two early Saturday evenings (5:30pm-6:30pm) we’ll be joined by Christelle live from the vineyards basked in the warmth of the evening July and August sunshine. We’ll taste two Champagnes per evening, including the estates Brut Tradition, Extra Brut, Rose and Blanc de Blancs vintage. This is a really perfect way to start your Saturday evening (and please finish it as you mean to go on…) We regularly visit Christelle in Champagne with a big group of thirsty students who always heap praise on such a wonderful experience. Family-owned and world class wine are two major reasons why this Champagne is Streatham Wine House’s house Champagne (Streatham Wine House is the wine bar owned by wine school founder and owners Jimmy Smith and Bethany Paterson). The Gratiot-Pillière family have operated as a family winemaking establishment since 1657. Today it is in the hands of 11th generation father and son vignerons Olivier and Sébastien. The family vineyards cover 18 hectares of land, spread throughout the small towns of Charly-Sur-Marne, Saulchery, Bonneil and Azy-Sur-Marne, putting name to their excellent quality. TASTING SERIES DATES (Both sessions begins at 5:30pm and will last approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour): Saturday 25th July 5:30pm (1 hour) Gratiot-Pilliere Brut Tradition NV (half bottle) Gratiot-Pilliere Brut Rose NV Saturday 1st August 5:30pm (1 hour) Gratiot-Pilliere Extra Brut Tradition NV Gratiot-Pilliere Champagne Blanc de Blancs 2012   COURSE STRUCTURE AND FORMAT: On both evenings, Jimmy Smith will be joined by Christelle Gratiot from Champagne Gratiot Pilliere. Each session will begin at 5:30pm over 2 consecutive Saturdays. Each session will be approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour in length. Unable to commit to each evening? No problem! Anyone registered for this tasting series will gain access to the video recordings of each session, so you can always revisit any of these at anytime in the future - whether its because you missed participating in the live evening or if you want to revisit the presentation at a later date. Each evening, we will be tasting two wines that are from the winery. A case of each wine covered throughout the course (4 in total - one half bottle, 3 full bottes) will be available to order for anyone registered to attend the course, so if you'd like, you can also purchase and enjoy the wines with Christelle and Jimmy on the night (or at a later date). The cost for this case is £125. Any wine orders received after 12pm will be processed on the next working day. We are working hard to deliver your order within two working days of the order being processed however due to the current environment the wines may arrive a day or two later than expected. PLEASE NOTE: As this is a virtual tasting, only one seat needs to be booked per household UNLESS individuals will be logging into the tasting series with different computers/tablets. If you have registered after 4pm Monday to Friday it will be sent to you the next working day.
