ONLINE WINEMAKER-LED TASTING SERIES: Domaine des Baumard with Florent Baumard

West London Wine School is so excited to announce another fantastic series of ‘Meet the Winemaker’ online tasting sessions: Domaine des Baumard with Florent Baumard on Wednesday 27th May 6:00pm – 7:00pm and Wednesday 3rd June from 6:00pm – 7:00pm. Domaine des Boumard of Loire, France In a deeply traditional region, Florent's early adoption of screwcaps and different vine trellising systems marked him out as the enfant terrible of Savennières. His mantra now encompasses a belief in the individuality of each vintage, believing it should be made with minimal intervention to allow the wine to reflect its vintage and unique character. His Savennières from the famous vineyards of Clos St Yves and Clos du Papillon are rich, yet with a balance and elegance that are unrivalled. His top cuvée of ‘Trie Speciale’ is only made in very exceptional vintages when grape quality is optimal. It is a wine full of paradox, honeyed and yet dry, rounded and yet firm. The rich fruit, tremendous weight and concentration ensure that it is a thoroughly memorable experience. TASTING SERIES DATES (Both sessions begins at 6:00pm and will last approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour): - Wednesday 27th May 2020 - Wednesday 3rd June 2020 COURSE STRUCTURE AND FORMAT: Each evening winemaker Florent Boumard will be joining us live with West London Wine School founder Jimmy Smith. Florent will host each session live at 6:00pm over 2 consecutive Wednesdays. Each session will be approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour in length. Unable to commit to each evening? No problem! Anyone registered for this tasting series will gain access to the video recordings of each session, so you can always revisit any of these at anytime in the future - whether its because you missed participating in the live evening or if you want to revisit the presentation at a later date. Each evening, Florent and Jimmy will be tasting three wines that are discussed during that evening's session. A case of each wine covered throughout the course (6 in total) will be available to order for anyone registered to attend the course, so if you'd like, you can also purchase and enjoy the wines with Florent and Jimmy on the night (or at a later date). The cost for this 6 bottle case is £160. Any wine orders received after 12pm will be processed on the next working day. We are working hard to deliver your order within two working days of the order being processed however due to the current environment the wines may arrive a day or two later than expected. PLEASE NOTE: As this is a virtual tasting, only one seat needs to be booked per household UNLESS individuals will be logging into the tasting series with different computers/tablets.
