Planeta wine tasting online

Enjoy Discovering Wine is delighted to announce that their April Alumni Club online wine tasting will be co-hosted by Alessio Planeta and Patricia Tóth from Planeta, Sicily. Thursday 29th April from 7pm. Open to members and guests qualified to a minimum of WSET Level 2. The Planeta family has been credited with being one of the most dynamic influences in improving the quality of Sicilian wines in the last 30 years. Diego Planeta first planted vines in 1985, in his home town of Sambuca di Sicilia, and began commercial production of Chardonnay under his own label in 1995. Today the Planeta estate has 400 hectares of vineyards planted with over 10 grape varietals and six wineries in five different areas in Sicily: Menfi, Vittoria, Noto, Etna and Capo Milazzo. Planeta remains a family-owned wine group, with a focus on research and promotion of indigenous Italian and Sicilian grape varieties, from Nero d’Avola to Carricante. The event:

• 7pm – 9pm Zoom tasting with Erica Dent, Alessio Planeta & Patricia Tóth
• Catch up with your fellow WSET achievers

Please book early to avoid disappointment All wine samples (approx. 55ml each) will be posted to your door and we will meet via Zoom to taste and discuss. UK cut off for bookings (to ensure wine arrives in time) is midday Friday 23rd April.
