When in Rhone... Our Game Season Event
Friday 12th October
Hosted by: Richard Wheeler & Mark Cronshaw, General Manager Presented by: George Unwin, Private Sales Manager & Ben Godfrey, Wine Buyer
As home to some of the world’s oldest vines, the wines of France’s Rhone Valley form an important part of any wine enthusiasts collection, whether it be within easy reach in the kitchen wine rack or tucked away in the cellar.
From light and spicy, perfect as a mid-week tipple, to the complexities found in some of the more prestigious appellations, there really is a wine for every occasion.
And it’s not just red wines which draw wine aficionados time and time again to the region, as the range and quality of whites on offer is equally as exciting.
Running through South Central France, flowing into the Mediterranean sea, the Rhône Valley offers a plethora of growing conditions resulting in wines that truly reflect their surrounding terroir.
To tantalise your tastebuds even further we have decided to combine this Rhône evening with our annual celebration of the game season, by now well under way. There are few greater food and wine combinations than the intense flavours of the wines from the Rhône Valley with the distinctive flavour of game.
George Unwin and Ben Godfrey both have a passion for food and wine matching, and both list the Rhône Valley amongst their favourite regions, so they have joined forces once again to present this wine dinner.
