Level 3 Intensive course dates:

(It is recommended candidates complete Level 2 prior to commencing Level 3)

This is an intensive course, candidates should aim to collect their material at least 3 weeks in advance to familiarize themselves with the Level 3 content.

The latest date candidates can book in is 2nd of May 2014.

The Advanced Certificate qualification is designed to give a thorough understanding of the principal wines and spirits of the world, and their commercial importance in the world's liquor market.

The qualification will assist those who are required to make professional evaluations of wines and spirits, with regard to their commercial value in the retail and hospitality industry. It also provides candidates with an in-depth understanding of wine styles, wine regions, grape varieties, and wine production methods.

Holders of the WSET level 3 Advanced Certificate in Wines and Spirits will be able to describe the characteristics of the principle wines and spirits of the world and give information on the key factors influencing style, quality and value. The qualified student will also be in a position to advise management, to answer customer queries authoritatively, and to make informed selections of wines and spirits in a variety of situations. The Course is also suitable for keen enthusiasts wanting to continue their wine studies in a structured manner.

The course covers the following:

-Tasting Techniques
-Burgundy and Alsace
-Bordeaux and South West France
-Loire,Rhone andSouthern France
-Germany,Austria,Hungary
-Italy
-Spain and Portugal
-USA,Canada and Chile,Greece
-Argentina and South Africa
-Sparkling wines
-Fortified wine
-Spirits and Liquers
Tasting and palate training is part of every lesson.

The course will run over 3 sets of 2 days (Monday and Tuesdays) on the 5th and 6th May, 12th and 13th of May and 19th and 20th May. The examination will be held on the 20th May.
please note:no refunds will be issued 10 prior days to the start of the course. Before that period a 75% refund is allowed if a student cancels their enrolment. A 100% refund will apply if Wine House cancels. There is a re-sit exam fee of $100 if a student does not attend the exam for any reason.
