St Laurent

Austrian variety that may be a cross of Pinot and Savagnin. It makes dark, assertive, sometimes quite tough wines. It is often blended with more internationally famous varieties and, if yields are limited, can be worth oak and bottle ageing. In the Czech Republic it is known as Vavrinecke.
