Wayfarer, Golden Mean Pinot Noir 2019 Fort Ross-Seaview

17

Blend of Pommard and Swan clones. Hand-picked, hand-sorted and destemmed. Five to seven days of cold maceration, more than two weeks of 100% ambient-yeast fermentation. The free-run wine was transferred to French oak (one-third new) for 15 months of ageing.
Herbal, floral nose. Great structure with fine-grained tannins, subtle oak, plenty of concentration, lots to chew on. Will age very nicely but appealing already. Redcurrant fruit, classy wine which has a hint of Pommard about it. (AWH)
