Wayfarer, Wayfarer Vineyard Pinot Noir 2019 Fort Ross-Seaview

15.5

Hand-picked, hand-sorted and destemmed. Five to seven days of cold maceration, more than two weeks of 100% ambient-yeast fermentation. The free-run wine was transferred to 58% new French oak for 15 months of ageing.
Deep colour. Chunky, glossy oak dominates the nose. Almost waxy on the palate. Very different style to many others in this line-up. Plenty of sweet fruit, combined with appealing savoury back notes. Generous and full-bodied, just a tad hefty. (AWH)
