After the clinical part of my investigation, tasting 41 Pinot Biancos under blind conditions, came the research in the field. To get a better picture of Pinot Bianco and the people behind it, I visited three very different estates, each representing an aspect of the Alto Adige make-up.
The first was Cantina Terlano (Kellerei Terlan), a co-op which with its high-quality output has made an international name for itself, showing convincingly that mediocrity does not need to be the end result.
