I found the 2009 Riservas literally a little heavy to stomach and a chore to taste. The heat of that vintage has resulted in very concentrated and at times heavy wines burdened with alcohol. There are only few that stood out, which is why I kept scratching my head as to why producers made this wine, especially when the regular 2009s already showed very unevenly last year.
