The Syndicat of the Vin de Pays d’Oc has registered the name Noctambulles for its sparkling wines. The alternative name, Noc en Bulles, is even sillier.
Because you cannot currently put the words Vin de Pays d’Oc on a quality sparkling wine, the idea is to establish a regional brand name pour valoriser (to add value to) these products. Hmm. And the Syndicat has produced a cahier des charges (ie a set of specifications) for wines using this moniker.
