La Cave du Jogging

Thursday 16 September 2004 • 1 min read

I thought anyone planning to travel near Montpellier might be interested in the following rather charming email, just received. I have left it as sent.

To Mrs Jancis Robinson

On the 31 aug issue of "Wine on the week" magazine, you seemed especially interested by "Lune Blanche 2002", Vin de Pays de Cassan Blanc. You told us about places where this wine may be bought.

You were especially intrigued by "la Cave du Jogging", and you were right ! It's antinomique !

This is the only place in Montpellier which proposes an every-day real degustation before lunch and dinner. It's all in the same time a restaurant, a Wine Bar, and a Wine Shop. "La Cave" stands beside of the restaurant but that's the most important and convivial part of the place. I'd like to propose you one wine or another. Here, you can choose your wine before eating.I meen, not on a menu, but by tasting wines, and depending of what you're going to eat, what you prefer, and how much you can afford of course. Wherenever a wine suits you, how about buying it here at "La Cave", 400 different wine reference are available, only wines from the South of France, and especially from the "Herault" area. Every bottle is presented with a label informing about the type of wine, ground nature, breeding and wine-making process.

You' ll be given 4 prices too : one for a glass, one for a bottle drink on the spot, one for a bottle drunk on the spot, one for a bottle to take away, and one for a 6-bottles-pack.

I shall be very happy to receive you during your next sejourn in the Languedoc.
