The 2014 vintage will not go down in history as a particularly successful one in the southern Rhône. Whereas the cooler temperatures of the 2013 growing season resulted in many wines that seemed better balanced than some earlier, hotter, more potent vintages, the capricious weather pattern of 2014 caused real problems in the vineyard.
