Were Pfalz grapes really picked too early in 2015?

There have been some lively discussions, not least on our members’ forum, about 2015 picking dates in the Pfalz region. Some lovers of German wine have expressed concern that the harvest there may have been premature at some estates. As the reservations expressed by the main participants of the discussion seemed to be more concerned with the top end of the market, I interviewed four of the most prominent growers of the region, making sure they came from districts with historically proven differences in mesoclimates within the region.
