Winemaker Chris Boiling sends the second half of his report on the latest winemaking trends in a small country with big potential in the wine world. His first half was mainly about western Slovenia.

The east has its own signature grape too. Furmint is best known for its contribution to Hungary's delicious dessert wine Tokaji, but in the northeast of Slovenia, where it is called Šipon, it is used to make a dry white wine with aromas of apples and pears and a fruity, spicy, minerally taste.
