Wine gets its very own tv channel

Monday 3 January 2005 • 1 min read

We wine lovers really have arrived. Not only do we have two grown-up movies Sideways and Mondovino with a wine theme currently on release (use the much-improved search facility on this site to find comments about both, especially in your turn), there is now a cable channel exclusively devoted to our favourite liquid.

Wine TV is an outfit based in San Francisco which is in the process of putting together as much high quality wine material as possible, and the deals with broadcasters who will show it. In the UK you can find some pretty mixed programming at Sky 253. In Germany Wein TV is available on Kabel Deutschland, Ish, and Primacom.

In the event that you have nothing to do over the next few days, or wish to be reminded of your favourite drink during this favourite period of abstinence, you could always curl up with Wine TV. You won’t even need the remote.
