A chance to savour Messrs Moueix & Barton

Sunday 5 September 2004 • 1 min read

21 sep A recent trip to France has resulted in some upgrading of individual vintages to those shown in bold below. Ticket price remains the same, despite the fame and cost of the Montrose 1990 (showing very well when I tasted it recently, though I think the 2003 will eventually be superior.

Christie's are organising a Masterclass in London on  the evening of mon 08 nov which will be conducted by two of the most civilised men in the Bordeaux wine trade, Anthony Barton of Ch Léoville-Barton and Christian Moueix of Pétrus et al.

Like so many Bordelais this autumn, they are visiting London in an attempt to sell some of the less fashionable vintages, in this case the rather toothsome 2001s. They will be showing the following wines at 18.30 in the Great Room at Christie's, King Street, London SW1:

Ch La Fleur-Petrus 2001 and (1995) 1998
Ch Magdeleine 2001 and (1990) 1989
Ch Leoville-Barton 2001 and 1985
Ch Montrose 2001 and (1989) 1990
