A new parcel to arrive at Majestic

A fine wine sale starts today at Majestic stores in the UK with over 300 wines reduced and reductions of up to 40 per cent. Ch Troplong Mondot 1997 for example has been reduced from £25 to £19.99. Many of the wines are only available in very limited quantities however and will only be stocked in a small number of stores so it’s a question of sniffing around.

Majestic also announce that they have bought another fine wine parcel, along the lines of their old deals with Scandinavian monopolies and so on. This latest one includes in particular burgundies and cru classé red bordeaux from ‘one of Europe’s most reputable wine dealers’ at some relatively keen prices. They say that all the wines have been stored in temperature-controlled cellars since release and are all in optimum condition. Burgundies include offerings from such blue chip Domaines as Leflaive, Armand Rousseau, Bonneau du Martray and Comte de Voguë. The clarets are all from 1996, 1998, 1999 and 2000, ranging from Cru Bourgeois and second wines all the way up to first growths. The parcel comprises a total of 14,834 halves, bottles and magnums, mainly packed in wood and will start to arrive in stores the week after next (from 13 mar). Some examples (but again, different bottles willl be available in different branches, with the St Johns Wood one presumably best-stocked):

Ch Grand Puy Ducasse 2000, Ch L’Arrivet Haut Brion 2000 and Ch Larmande 1998 will be £19.99, Ch Figeac 2000 £55 and Ch Haut Brion 2000 £250.
