Germany falls for all three Pinots

Michael and Tam spent last weekend tasting the latest, 2014 vintage of German wines at the annual showing in Wiesbaden. Tomorrow I publish tasting notes on an array of 44 particularly smart German white wines made from varieties other than Riesling, including Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay – JR 

Pinot Gris, or Grauburgunder, sometimes written Grauer Burgunder, is the fastest-growing grape variety in Germany, not only for last year but for the whole period from the turn of the millennium up to the present, according to the latest statistics of the German Federal Statistics Bureau (Statistisches Bundesamt).
