If you’re thinking of laying in any of LVMH’s grandest champagnes, any sort of Krug or Dom Pérignon, buy it soon. Prices for all of these already luxuriously-priced products are going up on March 1, this Thursday.
The wholesale price of the new, leaner, slimline Krug Grande Cuvée is to go up by 10%, vintage Krug by 15% and the price of the tiny production Clos du Mesnil is set to rise a massive 30%. The price of Dom Pérignon, current vintage 1999 which I have yet to taste, goes up by a mere 10%.
