We recently discussed whether one of Britain's dominant supermarkets Sainsbury's deserved to be Supermarket of the Year and I susbequently published notes on Thirteen of the best from Sainsbury's. Yesterday I conducted a similar exercise on the wine range of their big rivals Tesco and can report that of the 90-odd unfortified wines I 'looked at' (and with some of them I did only nose them rather than taste them), I put a tick of approval against 10 of them – and was impressed by some of their ports and sherries.
