Despite Malbec’s recent popularity on export markets, Argentine wine producers have not had an easy life in recent years. Argentina’s political and economic fortunes have been bumpy to say the least. But the people I met seemed much more sanguine than they were during some of my previous visits and would refer lightly to ‘the crisis’. Perhaps, a bit like us in Britain, they have become used to living with uncertainty.
