Ugni Blanc

French name for Trebbiano Toscano and one of France's most planted white grape varieties, widely grown as Ugni Blanc in South America. As St-Émilion it is the chief ingredient in Cognac and plays an important role in Armagnac too. The wine it produces is thin, light and tart. Hardly what the market wants nowadays. It is surprisingly common north of Bordeaux.
