The just-released 2018 Chianti Classico vintage which I tasted in Florence in February, a time which now seems ages...
The case for Chianti Classico 2018 and 2017
A 2018 growing cycle that at first looked worryingly similar to the washed-out 2014 vintage has resulted in surprisingly satisfying wines, and 2017 had already proved itself. Walter tastes 102 Chianti Classico 2018s and 2017s. This picture was taken at the Tenuta di Carleone estate, with winemaker Sean O'Callaghan on the right when you see the image full width on the articles home page. See also Walter's report on 2017 and 2016 Riservas and his classification of Chianti Classico producers.
