27 August 2017 Our quiz is now closed. We will be assessing all the answers over the next few days and expect to report on the winners, and the correct answers, by Friday of this week, probably on Thursday.

26 July 2017 As part of their Australian Women in Wine celebration (at which this year’s AWIW award winners will be announced, in London for the first time, during the morning trade event), Wine Australia has teamed up with Women in the City and are running a consumer tasting evening on Tuesday 26 September.

All five winners of our quiz will win a pair of tickets (worth £35 + VAT each) to this event.

WHEN: Tuesday 26 September, 6.30–9.30 pm

WHERE: Australia House, The Strand, London, WC2B 4LA

The plan is to mingle with bubbles until 7 pm when there will be a 30-minute panel discussion led by Laura Jewell MW, head of Wine Australia, with Lucy Clements of Accolade, Virginia Willcock of Vasse Felix, Prue Henschke, Samantha Connew (first female chair of judges at Sydney show, pictured in Lunch with the Evanses yesterday) and Sarah Crowe of Yarra Yering, winemaker of the year 2017.

After that you will have a chance to meet and taste with more than 50 Australian women winemakers and winery principals who will be pouring around 100 wines. Canapés will be served.

The organisers are keen to stress that, while the event recognises and celebrates women in wine, this isn’t a ‘women only’ event. Men are very welcome.

Should you wish to find out more about the event or to buy a ticket or two anyway, see here.

Meanwhile, get going, regardless of your sex, on our seven questions, all of which can be answered by studying the many free articles on JancisRobinson.com. You have until Saturday 26 August, exactly a month before the event, to submit your seven answers plus a tiebreak. Please be sure to include your name and email address.

We will announce the names of the five winners by Friday 1 September, so you will have plenty of time to buy tickets if you are not a winner.
